The Killers: I Feel It In My Bones

06 Dec

ADVENT DAY SIX: Christmas. It’s not long away. And to celebrate advent, new content will be added to this blog every day in the countdown to the big day. You’ll see reviews, opinion pieces, links to some of my other work, videos – maybe even a short story! Remember to check back every day (in between the mad rush of packing presents, getting the freezer stocked up and watching Home Alone on repeat).

Yesterday, I gave you a taste of yesteryear, with The Killers’ Don’t Shoot Me Santa. Today, I bring you back to 2012 and their sequel, I Feel It In My Bones.

Their former tour manager, Ryan Pardey, returns as the bad Santa, and The Killers are back on his ‘naughty’ list.

It’s actually their seventh consecutive Christmas song, starting with 2006’s A Great Big Sled, while last year’s release, Boots, could also be downloaded with the others as an EP. The proceeds from those seven songs go to raise money for the AIDs charity, (RED).

I Feel It In My Bones

Drummer, Ronnie Vannucci, told NME:

It was an idea we had and a demo we recorded when we working on Battle Born and it was so good… See what we do is we tend to make all these songs and then put them in a locker and find them way too late. This song was basically started a while back and we just finished it and changed it into more of a Christmas song. It was mixed by Alan Moulder; he did it when we were over in the UK a couple of weeks ago.

It’s been a great year for The Killers, with their album, Battle Born, reaching #1, and a sell-out tour that foreshadows a Wembley gig next year.

Fingers crossed that after touring, they’ll begin work on their next studio album!
